Un edificio singular

History

"La Casa de las Aldeas" is situated in a completely refurbished building of the 18th century, originally the seat of the "Comunidad de Aldeas de Daroca". Founded in 1248 this influential medieval territorial organisation is closely linked with the history of Daroca during a period of almost 600 years. The apartments are named after the different localities ("sesmas") which formed this organisation, to honor the historical heritage of the building.

When the "Comunidad de Aldeas de Daroca" was dissolved in 1838, this also meant that the building itself was deprived of its original function. Over the next 175 years the part of the building in which "La Casa de las Aldeas" is situated, was used as a school building, a private residence, a tenement and a storehouse. In its last years before the complete refurbishment the building was partly abandoned and in decay.

In order to safe this historical building and to fill it again with new life and activities, the idea to create a modern Hotel-Apartment inside the ancient walls was born. Form 2012 until 2014 the building was completely refurbished, adding some new architectural elements to the facade which pay hommage to a century-old style of construction in Daroca. The interior the building has been totally adapted to the needs of contemporary living and provides all the comfort and anemities you can expect for an enjoyable stay. This modernity of the building contrasts pleasantly with the immediate environment and its rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage.
